As part of Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Month, the MATE Bystander team would like to introduce you to ‘Be there’ Australia’s first free bystander app!
In late 2021, in partnership with the Queensland State Government and Telstra, we launched our bystander app – Be there – a tool to make it easier for our communities to recognise domestic violence and safely take action to support their friend or family member.
‘Be there’ shares the bystander message further than ever, by putting it into the palm of everyone’s hand. This world first app empowers bystanders to feel as though our MATE team is supporting them as they find the courage and develop their skills to support the person they care about.
This webinar will talk you through the app, its features and how it can empower you to provide support to someone you care about.
To download the app, visit bethereapp.com.au
We all just want to know how best to ‘Be there’ for someone we care about. So join us to learn how the app can help you to be someone who does something.
There is no need to register.

The MATE team acknowledge and pay respects to the Kumbumerri Salt Water people, the traditional owners of the land on which our office sits. We acknowledge the Kumbumerri elders, past, present and emerging. We pay respects to all traditional owners across Australia where we meet, learn and work with others. MATE is committed to honouring Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ unique cultural and spiritual relationships to the land, waters and seas and their rich contribution to society.
